Deep Purple is a band that was formed by Rod Evans, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Nick Simper, and Ian Paice in 1968.
This line-up released Shades of Deep Purple, The Book of Taliesyn, and Deep Purple.
Rod Evans and Nick Simper were replaced by former Episode Six members Ian Gillan and Roger Glover in 1969.
Ian Gillan and Roger Glover were replaced by David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes in 1973.
Ritchie Blackmore quit to form the band Rainbow and was replaced by Tommy Bolin in 1975.
Deep Purple disbanded in 1976.
Tommy Bolin passed away in 1976.
Deep Purple reformed in 1984.
Ian Gillan was fired and replaced by Joe Lynn Turner in 1989.
Ritchie Blackmore quit and was replaced by Joe Satriani in 1993.
Joe Satriani was replaced by Steve Morse in 1994.
Steve Morse was replaced by Simon McBride in 2022.
